    Accepting new clients

As an art therapy and counseling intern, I am committed to providing inclusive, trauma-informed, and person-centered care. My approach integrates creative expression with mindfulness and other evidence-based practices to help clients who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I am particularly passionate about helping clients who want to let go of paralyzing perfectionist tendencies and harsh inner critics. Whatever your reasons are for seeking help, it is important to me that you feel seen, heard, and empowered as we work together in a safe and creative space that supports your growth.

Using a blend of talk therapy and art therapy, we will collaborate to set goals, develop effective coping strategies, and weave together deepening self-understanding with practical solutions to restore balance in your life. No artistic ability or experience is needed, and artmaking is not a requirement but an available tool and resource that promotes emotional and nervous system regulation while increasing insight when words are hard to find. It is my privilege to provide collaborative and compassionate support to you as you reconnect with your strengths, cultivate skills and problem-solving strategies, improve your relationships, and ultimately move toward greater self-acceptance and resilience.

Melissa is completing her M.A. in Art Therapy/Counseling at Southwestern College. She has specialized training in trauma and grief and loss. Melissa is an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist.

Melissa has immediate openings for in-person and telehealth sessions.  She offers therapy sessions at a discounted rate of $40/session during her internship.
